Education
At Mikinduri Children of Hope, we believe education is the foundation for lasting change. In the communities we serve, access to quality learning is often limited by poverty, lack of resources, and social challenges. Our education programs provide the support children need to learn and grow—through school fee assistance, libraries and literacy initiatives, mobility equipment, and social education. Your donations make this possible, helping children gain knowledge, confidence, and hope for a brighter future.
1.School Fee Program
For many families in rural Kenya, the dream of education is out of reach simply because they cannot afford school fees. At Mikinduri Children of Hope, our School Fee Program gives children the chance to attend school, learn, and build a better future. With our hands-up approach and your generous help, parents pay what they can, and MCOH assists by paying the remainder, removing the financial barriers that keep children out of school.
2.Equipment Needs Program
Every child deserves the chance to learn, play, and belong. For many children in rural Kenya, disabilities restrict or remove their ability to attend school and participate in their community. Wheelchairs, crutches, walkers, and the ability to attend school can change a childs life and future.
3.Library & Book Program
Can you image your life without books (virtual or hardcopy)? With the help of the Elementary Teachers Federation of Ontario we built a library on Mageta Island. Your help has brought books, fun, and improved literary skills to this small island in Western Kenya. Children flock to the library with their teachers and on their own. Our next library effort is for Nyawata Secondary School, where the students and teachers are so eager for a library that they have built shelves and are searching for books. They are asking for your help.
5.Volunteers
At Mikinduri Children of Hope, our volunteers are the heart of everything we do. They pay their own way, they travel thousands of miles to work side by side with local partners, helping to launch and sustain programs that change lives. Their dedication ensures that every initiative is carried out with care, accountability, and transparency—so you can trust that your donations are making a real impact exactly where they’re needed most. Through their hands and hearts, hope truly takes root.
